Social Responsibility Projects

Volcanic is committed to operating in a socially and environmentally responsible manner in Guatemala. As part of this commitment, we have undertaken several projects under our mandate to do better business in Guatemala and we are actively working to ensure our environmental and social commitments are turned into tangible action on the ground. From supporting local initiatives, building schools and health centers, supporting and promoting community improvement practices our projects aim to make a real difference in the communities we serve.

At the same time, we also aim to educate local communities on the important role that mining plays in the economy and daily life of Guatemalans. We believe that by promoting the benefits of responsible mining, we can help to build a more sustainable future for all our stakeholders.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Damns

Volcanic and the local communities have formed a joint effort to ensure the sustainability of water resources in the areas where the company operates. This involves regular cleaning and maintenance of the dams that serve as a vital source of water for local communities. The work includes the removal of debris, sediment, and other materials that can accumulate in the dams and impact water quality.
